Posted on August 7 2011 by admin

Twitter has become one of the most useful business development tools out there. It’s fast and easy to use. And it is powerful. The power of Twitter is the ability to build relationships and create conversations with fans and people who follow you. However, it can seem overwhelming, and “just one more thing to do” So here are some tips too short to get in the swing.

Do not spend more than 15 minutes a day on Twitter:

You can have a high return on investment, without a lot of time on Twitter. We encourage people to use the Twitter widget in iGoogle and the dashboard so they do not choke on the Twitter site. This widget pulls in tweets every 3 minutes to keep up, but no other distractions.

Twitter tips

You can only dip to see what is happening and get back to work. Have a nice time. You can scan what your people are talking about, jump in if you wish, or tweet with a brief survey on its way. Spread your tweets throughout the day to get the most exposure, but not to stay.

Do not Sell:

There are many ways to use Twitter, but the number one no-no is a hard sell. Nothing annoys people more than having someone steady stream of sales pitches on them. This is not a commercial. It is a relationship building tool. Here are some things that Twitter about to run for his followers:

– Share of employment opportunities or customer needs
– Share useful or interesting links
– Share links to their blogs, articles, events (that’s fine, just not a used car salesman)
– Provide support
– Deal of the community
– Sharing a-ha moment
– Share a sense
– Asking a “have you ever …” question – start a conversation
– Ask for resources … “What is the best …”
– Sharing a laugh
– Share a quote
– Share an exit, peeve, tic …
– Is it a tip of the day

Who to follow:

People of all kinds will follow that’s part of the fun of Twitter. But to make the best use of your time, choose who you follow carefully. Many people does it change automatically track when someone follows you, but that did not work. For some strange reason, many real estate people started following us and they really do a lot of tweets sales, so we had to go back and stop following. So be strategic. Here are some ideas on who to follow.

– People who hire freelancers
– People who know people who hire freelancers
– People who contracted out to other freelancers
– People who share the same ideas and interests
– People who have the potential to collaborate on ideas
– People who inspire you
– The people you find funny, interesting, …

Relationships and Fun:

That is really what is social media, build relationships, share their experience, and have some fun.
