It is often criticized for webmaster tools not related to an Analytics account. Google seems to want to go in this direction and proposes to link the two accounts.

Google tools have often been questions about the completeness of the figures presented. Indeed, there are a few months question was even asked Matt Cutts who tried to give some possible answers.

Google webmaster

Google now offers to link its panel for webmasters to its Google Analytics account. This allows for additional figures within Webmaster Tools.

The Google Blog announced that the party ‘links to your site, the console will be supplemented by the webmaster referral links from Google Analytics. Another small innovation provides access to its Google Analytics dashboard from the same portion of the console.

The binding of the two accounts is very simple:

– Go to the list of registered sites in Webmaster Tools
– Click on ‘manage’ then ‘Profile Google Analytics’
– Then select the profile in question.

Rounded figures in webmaster tools

The other news concerns the display of figures within the administration console for webmasters. Apparently, many users complained that the figures were too difficult to interpret and manipulate.

Since last week, figures from the report “Application of research” are rounded. This amendment would allow Google to interpret according to the figures more easily.

The problem is that Google provides approximations to webmasters, who have often criticized the tool for its lack of accuracy against the figures reported by Analytics.
